On August 31, 2024, Merdeka Night was marked by an evening of profound community engagement and collaboration. The celebrations began with a heartfelt dinner with 30 members of the trans community at Taman Eliathamby, followed by a dynamic outreach program at Taman Tasik Taiping later that night. This dual-event highlighted the spirit of unity and service that defines the Merdeka celebration.
The evening commenced with a special dinner hosted at Taman Eliathamby, where Perkasih, Perak extended their warm hospitality to 30 members of the trans community. This event was more than just a dinner—it was a celebration of inclusivity, community, and mutual respect. The gathering provided a meaningful opportunity for members of the trans community to connect, share experiences, and enjoy a night of camaraderie. Following this uplifting event, attention turned to Taman Tasik Taiping for a late-night outreach program that commenced at 10 p.m. This outreach was a key initiative aimed at providing crucial health services, including rapid testing, to the local community. The program was conducted in collaboration with PKD Taiping, whose partnership was vital in ensuring the effectiveness and reach of the outreach efforts.
